Do you feel like you have royalty in your soul waiting to be recognized? Does your head yearn for a crown? MRT is partnering with Lowell Winterfest to help select this year's King and Queen of Winterfest!
The Prize
The chosen King and Queen of Winterfest will have a custom-made costume designed and constructed for them by Kelly Belt of Voltaire Design Studio. They will get to reign over the festivities of Winterfest, award prizes for competitions and events, take photos with Lowla Bear and their fans, and more!
The winners will also receive a prize package which includes tickets to all of the shows at MRT for the rest of the 2017-2018 Season (Lost Laughs: The Slapstick Tragedy of Fatty Arbuckle, Little Orphan Danny, and The Villains' Supper Club)! Specific details will follow.
How to Enter
Make a one-minute video on the platform of your choice (Facebook, YouTube, etc.) and fill out the entry form on the Winterfest website with the URL of your video. Tell us why you would make a great King or Queen of Winterfest and why you're excited to apply! Then make sure you encourage your friends and family to vote for your entry!
How to Vote
Visit the Winterfest website and click on the Vote tab of the entry form. Make sure to share with your friends once you've entered!
Rules
- Applicants must be Lowell residents and be available to attend both days of Winterfest (February 23 and 24, 2018).
- Minors may apply, but must be accompanied by an adult during festivities.
- Winners will be chosen by MRT on January 31, 2018.
Lowell Winterfest
Lowell’s Winterfest is the region’s premier, annual winter celebration, drawing thousands out of hibernation to enjoy a variety of family activities and entertainment. The festival takes place February 23 and 24, 2018. Winterfest highlights include ice skating, inflatable slides, a carousel, Soup Bowl Contest, fire dancers, Craft Beer Showcase, children’s entertainment and rocking local bands! Winterfest 2018 will feature the music of U2 cover band Joshua Tree; Hal and the Tones; Sonic Aviators and JD and the Misfits along with an 80s Soul & Reggae party with DJ Dave Perry. And it wouldn’t be Winterfest without a full menu of food from local restaurants and food trucks.
Attending Lowell Winterfest is a great way to celebrate the cold weather and snow that is traditional in a New England winter.
