MERRIMACK REPERTORY THEATRE INTRODUCES HALLOWEEN EVENTS

Halloween Family Fun Tour, Oct. 28
Backstage Fright Tours, Oct. 30, 31

Lowell, MA – Merrimack Repertory Theater is introducing back stage tours with a twist this Halloween season. Families and children will be invited for a special trick-or-treating tour on October 28. The more frightening late night tours will be held on October 30 and 31. Tickets for both events are available at mrt.org or by calling 978-654-4678.

The Halloween Family Fun Tour will take place on Tuesday, October 28 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Children will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat around the theatre, see MRT’s backstage, costume workspace, props storage, and lighting space, collecting candy and fun facts along the way. Free face painting will also be available in the lobby. Tickets are $10 per family.

The Backstage Fright Tour will be held on Thursday, October 30 and Friday, October 31, beginning at 10:00 pm. Every 10 minutes, tours will begin on stage and quickly progress from a typical backstage tour to a haunted trek through the subterranean labyrinth of the theatre’s working spaces. The experience is designed for brave adults and teens. Tickets are $20 per person.

The events are a collaboration between MRT and the UMass Lowell English and Theatre Arts Departments, Merrimack College Department of Visual and Performing Arts and Middlesex Community College (MCC) Theater Performing Arts Department. Proceeds from the tours will benefit MRT’s community and educational outreach programs.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) has been the Merrimack Valley’s professional theatre company since 1979, and is an integral part of Lowell’s identity as the cultural heart of the region. Under the artistic direction of Charles Towers since 2001, MRT is known for its high production standards and for creating compelling new plays and regional premieres that reflect the lives and emotions of its audiences. It is one of the 74 members nationwide of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT.)
