MRT is proud to offer complimentary child care to ticket holders on seven Saturday afternoons throughout the season. We work with licensed professional child care providers from Acre Family Child Care, so you can enjoy a show at MRT and rest assured your kids are in good hands without even having to hire a sitter.
MRT offers discounts to Educators and the Military community at these performances as well.

Child Care FAQ's
Do I need to reserve in advance?
Yes, in order to ensure appropriate number of child care providers, please confirm the number and ages of children you'll be bringing by the Wednesday before the performance. Please make reservations for child care through the MRT Box Office at 978-654-4678.
Who will be caring for my child?
Acre Family Child Care’s providers are knowledgeable, experienced professionals and carry all appropriate licenses (see below). The child care space has been evaluated for childproof safety, and no child is released to any adult at the end of the show without proper confirmation. Your child will be reachable by phone at all times during the show through the MRT Box Office.
What licenses do the child care providers carry?
All of Acre Family Child Care’s providers are licensed through the Massachusetts Department of Early Childhood and Care, and are also certified in First Aid and CPR. They have all completed additional coursework on special diets and allergies.
What ages are welcome?
Newborns through children age 10 are all welcome.
Where will my child be?
Just down the street from the theatre in the Relaxation & Meditation Room at Middlesex Community College's Federal Building (Address: 50 Kearney Square, 2nd floor). A MRT representative will meet parents at the Federal Building starting at 3:00 pm, before the 4:00 pm show.
How many child care providers will be there?
Child care provider to child ratios are always consistent with state regulations. The total number of providers is determined by the number and ages of the children expected during the performance.
Will snacks be provided?
You are welcome to send your child with a snack, but because of diverse dietary restrictions, the Acre Family Child Care providers cannot provide snacks. Children will only be allowed to consume the food and drinks that they bring with them. Please label all food containers with your child's name. Coolers or ice packs should be brought for any food or drink that needs refrigeration.
Where is the bathroom my child can use?
The bathroom is conveniently located immediately adjacent to the Relaxation & Meditation room where child care is offered.
What if my child is not potty trained?
Children do not need to be potty trained, but you should send your child with any diapers, wipes, lotions that they will need.
Will activities be provided?
Yes. Acre Family Child Care's providers bring craft supplies, toys, games, and more, and come prepared to facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities.
Where and when are drop off and pick up?
Drop off begins at 3:00 pm (show starts at 4:00 pm) and pick up should be completed by 6:00 pm (show ends at approximately 5:30 pm). Parents should go directly to the Relaxation & Meditation Room at Middlesex Community College's Federal Building 50 Kearney Square, 2nd floor (a short, five minute walk from the theatre) to drop off their children and pick up their tickets for the performance. Pick up after the show will be at the same location.
I am a subscriber and have tickets to a different performance. Can I exchange?
Yes, subscribers may exchange their tickets for this performance if they want to take advantage of this service. We will keep your seats as close to your original ones as possible.
How much does this service cost?
This service is complimentary to ticketholders.
Do I have to attend the MRT performance?
Yes, this service is only available to patrons attending the 4:00 pm matinee performance.
